Computer Graphic Artist, Photographer and Art Professional. Born and raised in China. Currently, based in Brooklyn, NY.
Yijian Shen is an image maker and arts professional living in New York City. He attained his MFA in Digital Imaging from Pratt Institute in the summer of 2016. Prior to that, he studied photography at Tianjin Normal University in China. His expertise includes front-end web development, quality assurance, project management, realistic computer rendering, and video production. He has worked at galleries in New York City, such as David Zwirner, in which he helped build online exhibitions and custom webpages.
While being immersed in the online displays of exhibitions in the art world. He also maintains passion for his own arts. As a photographer and computer graphic artist, his work has been showed at galleries such as One Art Space and Pratt Institute Digital Arts Exhibition Space in New York City. Computer generated images are an essential part of his work, he firmly believes that digital-based art forms should be considered more serious in the art world. In his photographic work, he is interested in time, space, and the outdoor environments. When he is not making art or working, you will probably spot him biking in a park, taking photographs on the street, and staring at a piece of art in a gallery or museum.
